Have you ever seen those “Krafty Bloks” at your local craft store ( I got mine at Hobby Lobby)? I was so excited to see them there. Years ago my husband and I tried making lights out of glass blocks, but drilling a hole in the block to accommodate the light was proving to be too difficult for us. Then came the Krafty Blok. Glass blocks already drilled, ready for your decorative touch. Brilliant!! the ideas are endless, but here’s what I came up with!
This Halloween light was made using a store bought Krafty Blok, Stand and Light kit. I used Modge Podge to glue the scrapbook paper to each side of the block and then I brushed more Modge Podge all over the top of the paper. (It gives it a protective coating and almost makes it feel like it’s petrified!)
For the front, I cut out a black spooky frame using the Cricut Machine Cartridge Happy Hauntings , and of course, Modge Podged that on. For the final touch, I painted some wood letters green and sprinkled then with glitter and super glued them on to spell BOO.
For the back, I just cut out on my Cricut machine two witch hat shapes from Happy Hauntings. Modge Podged the first one to the block, and stuck the second one on top of the first one with those double sided foam dot adhesives to make it pop off the block.
A little ribbon Modge Podged around the sides of the Blok, followed by a hand looped bow at the top, and I am now the talk of the town! This was so much fun to make!
I would really love to hear feedback on these projects. Better yet, send me some photos of your ideas that have become a reality! Email me at email@example.com and maybe I can feature a project YOU made in our next newsletter! I need a break:)
