Love you Latte

Love you Latte

Head on over to Craft-e-Corner Cricut Community Facebook Group for more inspiration and education!

This weekend I went and got three craft room MUST-HAVES that…shamefully (shaking my head)… I did not have! One: Kraft Cardstock! Two: A White Gel Pen! Three: A Corner Rounder!
…and this is what came of my little crafting haul. A super duper easy ‘Love You A Latte” card!
This card was about as “me” as it gets! Besides the fact that I LOVE coffee and lattes, I also love polka dots and pink. It’s funny, usually I make cards with others in mind…but this card would be the perfect card for me! (So I have decided to put it on my desk at work and admire it!)
Let’s get to how this little cup of love was brewed…

I started off with none other than a standard A2 size card using my new Kraft Cardstock. Then I put on a white piece of paper just a hair smaller and rounded the corners with my new Corner Rounder!
(That’s 2 of my new products used already and I’ve just begun!)
Next I took my Starbucks coffee sleeve (what? I told you I love me a good cup of coffee and what better card to recycle my sleeve for!) and made a 3D pennant banner for my card.
Cut a long top strip for the top of the banner and two smaller ‘pennant’ ends. I just used my scissors for this part.
Using my Megan Elizabeth 3D foam adhesive sheet, I cut out two very small pieces and used them to pop up my banner.
I couldn’t write on the bumpy surface of the coffee sleeve, so I just added a small piece of Kraft Cardstock on top so I could write my sentiment. Make sure when your putting your top onto the 2 little pennants that you move it up slightly so the banner looks more 3 dimensional.
Then using my new White Gel Pen, I added a stitched boarder around my white background and hand wrote out “Love You A Latte” on my banner. I have beyond terrible handwriting so this was quite the task for me!
Using Kraft Cardstock I then cut out my lovely cup of love using my Cricut Expression 2 and the Accent Essentials Cartridge. I cut the love mug out at about 1.75″ and put a piece of solid pink cardstock behind the die cut to make my pink heart.
Next I added some swirls to the card in two ways. First I cut a few swirls out using my Cricut and the Cricut Accent Essentials Cartridge (again).
Then using a few stamps from my Fancy Pants Doodles & Things Stamp Set and my Megan Elizabeth Ink Edgerz, I added a few extra stamped swirls and hearts.
The stamped hearts were the last finishing touch!
Overall the card is very simple and by using basic colors and papers, the pink really POPS!
A great representation of how to use all three of these craft room must-haves (which I now HAVE and will not be without) to whip up something sweet!
What are your top craft room MUST-HAVES?
Hope you love the card!
Happy Crafting,
Abbey
